THE ITALIAN LINEAGE OF OUR FAMILY(extinct)
The Count MARIE-LOUIS-ANTOINE-ALEXANDRE d'HORRER was the third son of Marie-Joseph d'Horrer and Wilhelmine de Rachette. He was born in Saint Petersburg on April 5, 1816, and baptized at Saint Catherine's Church by Alexandre de Penguilly, a priest and Knight of the Order of Malta. His godmother was Her Royal Highness Princess Antoinette of Württemberg, née Saxe-Coburg, and his godfather was His Serene Highness Prince Alexander of Württemberg, his son.
Like his brothers, and for the same reasons, he served in Rome in an Italian regiment because their father refused to see his children serve in the King Louis-Philippe's army. Thus, he became a mercenary in the 2nd Foreign Regiment in the service of the Holy See, and a second lieutenant in 1932. Like them, he had to provide proof of his family's comital title and coat of arms, and a diploma was issued to him on November 27, 1877 (see DOC-24 : diploma of recognition of the title of count). Therefore, Our family is registered in the registers of the Italian nobility. Letters from Alexandre d'Horrer to Bishop Dupanloup are held at the National Library (reference NAF 24672-24710, division F 567-568). In 1887, he lived at 19 rue Monsieur, in Paris, and died at 13 rue Duroc on March 25, 1893. He had ostracized his family because of his "disreputable lifestyle." He had married his seamstress, Ismérie Champeau, daughter of Jean-Pierre Champeau and Ismérie Dru. She died in Paris on October 23, 1897, at the age of 71. They had at least two sons.:
